Question: What kind of media insitute might distribute your media product and why?
-our film was low budget and indepentent meaning it would not be considered a block buster and wouldn't be distributed by a huge company. Below I have disccussed different insitutions, if they would show it and why.
Offline:
Cinema City is the most likely local insitute to show our film due to the genre and themes present throughout the film, as they are known for showing and supporting independant films and companies this would be the first plave to consider. DVDs wouldn't be produced unless it became a lot more successful than expected, which is highly unlikely. If the film caught interest of a lot of people, channels such as Film4 / E4 might consider showing it but big channels such as Sky or BBC 1 would be very against showing such a small film, and would be against showing such explict themes.
Online:
As our film was independant and low budget budget it woud be advertised and shown on indie film sharing websites to begin with and possibly shown at fiilm festivals. If the films popularity grew it could perhaps be on sites such as Netflix however I don't think it would be highly successful on big websites as it has such a specific target audience.
The London Independent Film Festival would be an ideal place for our film to be shown as it would appeal to the audience that attended the festival and would promote the film and the prodcution comapny. This festival is very popular meaning that reaching a large audience would be a lot easier by showing it there than if we were to try to show it ourselves.
